CREDENTIALS COMMITTEEHospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, professional associations or societies, individual professionals, and professional liability insurers are required to report to the State Medical Board certain information relating to professional liability or physician discipline. ORC § 4731.224 (A) - (D) "The Board may only disclose the summaries and reports which it receives under this section (the mandatory reporting listed above) to hospital committees within or outside Ohio which are involved in credentialling or re-credentialling the certificate holder or in reviewing his clinical privileges. The Board shall indicate whether or not the information has been verified. Information thus transmitted by the Board shall be subject to the same confidentiality provisions as when maintained by the Board."
