NURSE ANESTHETIST

A registered nurse may administer an anesthetic under the direction of and in the immediate presence of a licensed physician, provided such nurse has taken a prescribed course in anesthesia, at a hospital in good standing. ORC § 4731.35

"No person who is not certified by the National Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists or the National Council on Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists shall use the title Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist' or the initials C.R.N.A.,' or any other title or initials implying that the person has been certified by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists or the National Council on Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists." ORC § 4723.03 (D)
