SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES - S.T.D. (VENEREAL DISEASE)

The physician in attendance shall report suspected cases of venereal disease as listed in OAC § 3701-3-02 to the Board of Health within twenty four hours after the case is identified. OAC § 3701-3-04, 3701-3-05 A list of reportable diseases can also be obtained from the Ohio Department of Health, 246 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43266-0558, (614) 466-3543. Case management shall follow the procedures outlined in OAC § 3701-3-03 through 3701-3-25.

A local Board of Health may provide for the free treatment of cases of gonorrhea, syphilis, and chancroid. It may establish and maintain one or more clinics for this purpose and may provide for the necessary medical and nursing services. The Board may provide for the quarantine of carriers of gonorrhea, syphilis, or chancroid, as the Director of Health orders to be quarantined. ORC § 3709.24
