Electrologists

Applicants who apply for a Cosmetic Therapist license, and hold a certificate, and are registered with the State Board of Cosmetology, that authorized the practice of electrolysis, are not required to take the necessary examination, prior to February 1, 1993.

A person meeting the foregoing requirements may be registered by the State Medical Board as a cosmetic therapist but may not apply “systematic friction, stroking, slapping and kneading or tapping to the face, neck, scalp or shoulders through the use of approved electrical modalities” until that person has completed coursework in that area at a school approved by the Board.
