Licensure of Massage Therapists, Preliminary EducationThe entrance examiner of the board shall determine the sufficiency of the preliminary education of applicants who seek a certificate to practice within a limited branch. The Board may adopt rules defining and establishing for any limited branch of medicine or surgery such preliminary educational requirements, less exacting than those prescribed by such section, as the nature of the case may require. ORC § 4731.19 A limited branch school shall fully inform a prospective student for enrollment about the nature of the course of instruction he desires to take and about what the training can reasonably be expected to do for him. OAC § 4731-1-19 (A) A limited branch school shall accurately inform a student with respect to the nature of the obligations into which he is entering, and with respect to his responsibilities and rights under the contract he or she signs. OAC § 4731-1-19 (B) A limited branch school shall require each student to prove that he has received a certificate of preliminary education from the Board prior to enrollment. Said certificate of preliminary education shall be issued to a prospective student by the Board once that student submits documentary evidence of preliminary education received prior to entering upon the study of a limited branch of medicine or surgery equal to graduation from high school, such credentials to be passed upon by the entrance examiner of the Board.
